Conventional Refinance 4th time client!

The service rendered by Brent Mendelson was outstanding. With a busy schedule, I felt comfortable with the manner in which communication took place. Importantly, all of my questions were skillfully and professionally addressed. The service and personal touch were exceptional and an infrequent occurrence these days.

1st time buyer DC condo- New Construction

Dearest Brent,

I can't thank you enough for your advice, guidance, enthusisasm and patience with me over the course of the last five months. Our first phone call was in April-when I couldn't even spell "condominium" and now here I am in September as a D.C. homeowner! Your sense of humor balanced with a calm demeanor and incredible subject matter experience were a welcomed approach to this arduous and anxiety filled process. Your responsiveness to my many, many, MANY inquiries were always timely, you made me feel like I was your most important client. Thank you for seeing everything through to fruition.

 With my sincerest gratitude,

HPAP Condo loan. 1st time buyer Washington DC.

I want to thank you and your team  in what Brent calls making me "the newest homeowner in DC." As a poor kid from Richmond, Va. who wanted his shot, I couldn't have imagined that I'd be a homeowner by the age of 24; I had a person TELL ME that it was only acceptable to buy a property until after 30. That was thanks to all of you. There were some hairy moments and times I just wanted to be done with it all; however you didn't do that. Whether, it's because of the responsibilities in your position or that you just get and understand the people you are aiding in improving their lives. I can't thank you enough.

For some, this is our last business encounter(at least until the 6th year) and others it's only the beginning. Thank you once more and I hope you all enjoy your year...because I know will!

Brent, I hope your wife wasn't too mad at you on me taking up too much of your time on one of our last calls.

Respectfully,
RL. Williams, Jr

DC 1st time buyer

Thank you again Brent. You have made the buying experience an enjoyable experience. You and your team was awesome. I may need to revisit a loan for a cheaper investment/rental property late this year or early next year and will definitely come back when ready!

Washington DC Purchase 3rd time client.

Brent is a very accomplished and trustworthy loan officer. He helped me and my family through two home purchases and one refinancing. Purchasing a new home is always overwhelming for me and Brent made the process to the point and he always had great guidance. He investigated every facet of my mortgage application and found many opportunities for savings. I feel very comfortable with Brent and will continue to use his services in the future. In addition he is always a phone call or an email away!

DC First time home buyer

" I had an excellent relationship with Brent.  Over the course of 12 months I bid on four houses before finally placing the winning bid on the fifth house.  Brent was there all the way through each of the offers providing the updated files and required letters to expedite the process.  Brent took a very personal approach to getting the job done.   At one point he was on vacation with his family but spent part of his vacation time on the phone with me satisfying the requirements of the seller.  I was definitely pleased with his service and give him an unqualified very positive reference"

DC purchase. 1st time buyer

Working with Brent was a real pleasure.  As a first-time home buyer, I was inexperienced and knew little about the process and everything that was involved.  Throughout the process I relied on Brent's knowledge, guidance, and consultation.

Luckily for me, Brent got on a call with me on a Friday evening and we were able to lock in a very good rate - right before rates jumped the next week.  In the end, this one phone call saved me a lot of money.

Finally, Brent held true to the closing date we set, even though negotiations pushed it right to the brink.  This was a huge help for me.

I would recommend Brent to any of my friends, family, or colleagues.  He is professional and certainly gets the job done.

FHA Flip Purchase smooth as silk.

"As first time homeowners, my wife and I were a little apprehensive about the home buying process and securing a loan.  We shopped around a bit for a bank/loan officer, but once we talked to Brent we knew the search was over.  Brent provided us with a full range of options and took all of the guesswork out of the entire loan process.  He was always available to answer any questions and never hesitated to answer the same question 2, 3, or 4 times, which was very important to us as first time homeowners.  We also really liked the fact that Brent was very friendly, easy to talk to, and transparent about the entire process.  We are so pleased with Brent and all the folks at First Mariner that his name is the first (and only) name we mention to our friends and family who are also looking to buy a house."

DC refinance client

Brent is very easy to work with.  I am very busy during the day and have two small children, so finding the time to refinance was a challenge.  Brent was available by email at all hours and we had some late evening conversations too.  From the application to the closing, Brent was there explaining and facilitating every step of the process, which made it move quickly.

He brought a human element to the transaction, so it didn’t feel like plugging numbers into a bank form and waiting for an answer.  There was an understanding of our needs and our financial situation. He was able to get us a mortgage that is saving us a substantial amount each month.  He also introduced me to an insurance agent who is also saving us some money.

If you want someone to make it easy for you to save money, I suggest you give Brent a call.

Washington DC purchase

Brent did an outstanding job in the purchase of my new home.  I had explored other lenders and he was able to offer the most competitive rate and greatest flexibility in structuring my new loan.  He helped me every step of the way from pre-qualification to settlement.  I was most impressed with how how he always took the time to respond to my many questions and in a very timely fashion.   I highly recommend Brent to my family and friends.

Hope this helps and thanks again for making this all come together!

DC Condo refinance

Working with Brent was incredibly easy: he guided me through the complicated paperwork, and made himself available to answer questions in a clear and concise manner.  No matter how basic my question, he took them seriously and patiently took the time to explain the process and the reasoning behind everything.

Other lenders were not able to help with my refinance, due to its unique nature, but Brent made it happen and at a great rate. In fact it was so good we also refinanced our primary home with Brent as well.

My Favorite testimonial

Hello Brent, I must say that my life has been in a whirlwind since that wonderful Monday, February 13, 2012. My whole routine has changed, for the better, and it took some getting used to. But now things have settled and I have a chance to breathe easy. So I would like to take this chance to just say THANK YOU!!!!! You did everything possible to ensure that I walked a way a new home owner. Not once did you leave me hanging out there, without a clue as to what was going on. You were there every step of the way and for that, I truly thank you. You fought and you fought hard for me. And that applies to loan approvals, rates and HPAP. You were a professional in all aspects. I wish I knew 100 people who were buying houses because I would send them all to you! Brent, I want you to know you helped changed my life. I never thought I would cross the finish line, but you gave me the push I needed to make sure I did. Thank you Brent. I know you give this great service to everyone....I just hope they appreciate it as much as I do. Keep making dreams come true! Sincerely, KL

DC Multiple Refinance Customer

"Getting a first mortgage or refinancing your current mortgage is always stressful after all, it is the largest financial transaction most of us are likely to engage in. There are numerous questions about if you can afford the mortgage, when is the best time to refinance, whether the new terms offset the costs of refinancing, or whether you are getting the best deal possible.

My experience working with Brent was a pleasure. He was completely upfront about the costs and whether the deal made sense financially. In fact, when I explained my situation, he advised me not to refinance unless the current terms improved even though it cost him business. When he later contacted me about a better deal, I jumped at it because he had earned my trust. Throughout the process, he answered all of my questions patiently and offered to track down information that was not readily available. In sum, his manner and eagerness to work with me removed a great deal of the stress. I could not recommend him more highly."

DC Purchase Testimonial

May 4, 2011

Dear Sir or Madam:

"It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to commend the wonderful service that I received from Brent Mendelson of Monarch Bank, who acted as my loan officer during the purchase of my first home in December 2010.

Throughout the process of purchasing the home, I felt like I was securely in the hands of an experienced professional. It was clear in my frequent communications with Brent that he was very knowledgeable about the mortgage loan process and the real estate industry generally. He was fantastic at explaining complicated concepts of finance to a lay person such as myself and particularly familiar with the various ways in which the market has changed in recent years from both the perspective of the lender as well as the borrower.

In working with Brent over the course of several months, I found him to be trustworthy, sincere and reliable. His ethical approach to his work stands in stark contrast to the prevailing public perception about the real estate and home mortgage industry as a result of the national financial crisis. Contrary to that image, in Brent’s hands, I very much felt as though his word could be trusted and depended upon. For example, although he had no problem explaining the roles and obligations that exist between Buyer and Seller and between Buyer and Agent, he did not hesitate to let me know when I was soliciting advice that extended outside of the financial side and into the purview of my agent. Nor did Brent ever promise anything to me that he could not deliver in the end, which I very much appreciated.

I also found Brent to be exceptionally patient, diligent, and most of all, accessible. Brent went out of his way to make my experience as a first-time home buyer a pleasant one. Brent took the necessary time to explain things and to quell my frustrations during phone conversations that often took place late in the evening just to accommodate my schedule. On one occasion, he even went the extra mile to smooth out a problem that arose between my agent and myself related to securing verification that a repair was done prior to closing.

Brent’s commitment to old-fashioned customer service was on full-display when he personally appeared for my closing bearing a congratulatory gift, no less. His appearance impressed the seller, an experienced investor, who had thought the days of mortgage lenders showing up for settlements were long over."
